Makom Kadosh is “holy place”
or “sacred space” in Hebrew.
Temenos, our meeting place since October 2010,
is “sacred space” in Greek.
Come co-create sacred space with us!
Spiritually engaging, inclusive, questioning, creative and casual,
the JFCC is a community in which
adult seekers and learners take ownership
of their Jewish growth and evolving identity,
and where families experience Judaism together.
Welcoming and affirming,
and supporting the full participation of everyone,
and families of all kinds–interfaith, single parent, GLBT, Jews of color,
spiritual seekers wanting a taste of Judaism.

Makom Kadosh: The JFCC’s first TORAH SLAM!
A Torah slam is an opportunity for everyone who wishes to offer a short bit of wisdom. This Torah slam’s topic will be the week’s parsha, Vayekhal-Pekudai (Exodus 35:1-40:38).
You are invited to prepare a teaching on something from this week’s parsha, Vayekhal-Pekudai, and present it in under 5 minutes. You can offer a piece of art (original or otherwise), a poem (original or otherwise), a teaching on the broad topic of the parsha (the building of the mishkan/tabernacle), or on something specific, or even just tangentially connected to the week’s Torah. Be as creative and innovative as you like! Everyone who volunteers in advance will have an opportunity to share their Torah. After an hour or so, we will have an open discussion of what we have just taught and learned.
Listeners are invited and needed.
THE TORAH SLAM ONLY HAPPENS IF YOU & OTHERS COMMIT TO OFFERING SOMETHING! BE BRAVE! YOU ARE AMONG FRIENDS! email us!
