Makom Kadosh is “holy place”
or “sacred space” in Hebrew.
Temenos, our meeting place, is “sacred space” in Greek.
Spiritually engaging, inclusive, questioning, creative and casual,
the JFCC is a community in which
adult seekers and learners take ownership
of their Jewish growth and evolving identity,
and where families experience Judaism together.
Welcoming and affirming,
and supporting the full participation of everyone,
and families of all kinds–interfaith, single parent, GLBT, Jews of color,
spiritual seekers wanting a taste of Judaism.

SHABBAT MORNING OFFERINGS:
NOVEMBER 14 at 10am
Intro to Qigong with Chris
In Chinese, Qi (chee) means vital life force (however you want to interpret that) and gong means to do something well or practice.
Qigong is a crucial element buried within most styles of Chinese martial arts, but can also be used in a non-martial way as a stand-alone practice for a calm mind and relaxed body.
This class will seek to introduce you to this simple yet profound method of syncing body movement with the breath.
I will start with a short lecture on background, definition of terms, and some demonstrations of body mechanics through use of a partner. We will then do a series of movements in both standing and seated positions. The class will run between 30-45 minutes.
This class is geared to the person who has zero experience, but all levels of practice are welcome. I make no claim to be an expert, but will be happy to share some of the things I have learned over the past 20 years.
DRESS COMFORTABLY IN LOOSE CLOTHING, WEAR SNEAKERS OR COMFORTABLE SHOES, WEAR MINIMAL JEWELRY.
WE WILL BE OUTSIDE, WEATHER PERMITTING.
STAY FOR BRUNCH AFTERWARDS…
